Semantics-Nonverbal Communication

Nonverbal communication is a proces of communication through sending and receiving wordless messages. Nonverbal communication same with communication without  words. The difference between verbal communication and nonverbal communication: verbal and non verbal communication are all types of communication. But the difference between  them is that we used our voice in verbal communication and we used body signs in non-verbal communication.

Eye Contact

Eye contact is very important in communication because it gives us certain types of information. Eye contact between people can also offer clues to the kind of relationship being shared.

Facial Expressions

Facial Expression are the key characteristics of nonverbal communication. Your facial expression can communicate happiness, sadness, anger or fear.

Posture

Posture and how you carry your self tells a lot about you, how you walk, sit, stand, or hold your head not only indicates your current mood, but also your personality in general.

Haptic or Touch

Haptic communication is communicating by touch. Touch or haptic is the characteristic of nonverbal communication and used when we come into physical contact with other people.

Gestures

A gesture is a characteristic of nonverbal communication in which visible body actions communicate particular message. Gesture include movement of the hands, face, or other parts of the body.

Space and Distance

There are four different distances that we keep between us and another person :
intimate      : 0 to 50 cm
personal      : 50 to100 cm
social          : 100 to 300 cm
public         : 300 to limit of sight

Dress style

The type of clothing of person wears can also serve as a form of body language. People often use clothing to signify their age, gender, political views, and economic class.
